Heikki Orvola Maljakko developed this idea for Iittala.

About Iittala

Since 1881, Iittala has strived to provide inspiration for a more beautiful and enjoyable life. The company started out as a glass factory in the Finnish village of Iittala. It has since developed into an internationally renowned brand that has played a decisive role in defining a Scandinavian lifestyle.

In the early years they produced glassware by blowing and pressing. This was done on the basis of continental models that were brought to the factory by glassblowers.
