Design of Iittala Kivi

The name “Kivi” comes from the Finnish word for “stone.” These small jewels of light were designed by Heikki Orvola in 1988. The Kivis enhance the light of the flame, intensifying it. What sets Iittala Kivis apart is that they are made of solid colored glass throughout, as opposed to other candle holders where the glass is painted on the outside. This technique of solid colored glass results in exceptionally rich hues.
